your life your call.

it's been a while since i have done an interview, and i thought i would share my most recent one.
 hope you enjoy this little peek into my mind. thank you to lillian from the rustyhead!

The Rustyhead: How are you? Tell us a little about yourself.
Caylee: My name is Caylee, from the blog ifyouseekstyle.com. I'm 26 years old and live in Chicago, Illinois.

TRH: What made you start your blog?
C: I stumbled upon my first fashion blog in 2008 and it was a godsend. Someone like me, living in rural Indiana at the time with a huge interest in fashion but no one to really relate to, could finally connect with others, express and create. I also love the Internet, which made it a win-win. I posted outfit pictures on MySpace and Chictopia for a while and the response was so amazing, I finally just started a blog. It's four years old now!

TRH: How would you describe your style?
C: An Isabel Marant and Madewell love child.

TRH: What are some must haves or most worn items in your closet?
C: High rise jeans, ankle boots, button down shirts, oversized blazers, and vintage belts and bags.

TRH: Favourite spring/summer trends for 2013?
C: I want a pair overalls or a pinafore, but I already look ten years younger than I really am and this will just emphasize that. Dilemmas....

TRH: Favourite places to shop in your city?
C: Thrift stores!

TRH: What can we find in your bag on a daily basis?
C: My wallet, Ray-ban sunglasses, iPhone, Burt Bees lip balm, and orange tic tacs.

TRH: What are some items on your wishlist right now?
C: Can someone just take me on a Topshop shopping spree? Thanks.

TRH: Where do you get your inspiration?
C: The internet of course; street style being número uno. But since I feel I have really come into my own, just clothes in general inspire me. If I see a perfect blouse on a rack, I'm already thinking of a million ways and a million places I'm going to wear it. It's about a lifestyle for me, not fashion or following trends.

TRH: What do you like the most about blogging?
C: The friendships I have created. You know someone based a mutual interest in each other's blog and you talk via the Internet, but then you meet, and a legitimate bond forms. It's the coolest thing ever to say some of the girls I have met through blogging are now friends for life.

TRH: Do you have any tips for new bloggers/anyone who wants to start a blog?
C: Inspire and motivate yourself, which in turn will inspire and motivate others. I don't really look to see what others are doing. I only see what I'm doing, where I'm going. People want to see something real - do what you love, never stop trying, and let that authenticity shine through in your photos and in your style.

your life, your call.
junip = heaven.

miracle mile.

forever 21 sweater (simliar here); h&m denim shirt (similar here), skirt and belt (similar here);
vintage dooney & burke bag; ray-ban sunglassesmichael kors watch; gorjana and vintage rings; zara heels.

transitioning into summer with easy, lightweight layers. i love how the different textures, colors, and prints play off each other to create my ideal day look. these shoes will continue to be in heavy rotation, and i could wear a denim shirt every single day if i felt it was acceptable. it's probably not. but i do have seven different styles of denim shirts. and i also make my own rules :)

CWK!

lean on me.

thrifted t-shirt (similar here) and skirt (similar here and here); h&m belt (identical here) and barrette; vintage dooney & burke purse;
ray-ban clubmasters; michael kors watch; choies shoes.

i took these back on a day where it felt like literally every person in chicago was out, singing praises that spring had actually arrived. today it feels like a distant memory, but i keep the hope alive because i know in a few short days my sunshine will be back. i threw on this t-shirt and shoes combo again, same as from the last post. these two pieces along with the print skirt make me feel like i'm sort of channeling isabel-marant-goes-to-the-thrift-store. which sounds absolutely perfect to me.

when things get a little overwhelming, remember your inner strength and your outer support system.
this song sums it up beautifully.
"i know you count on me, well just lean on me, lean on me anytime".
