this puts me in a mood to take a solo trip to nowhere - the feeling of freedom, the unknown, and no responsibilities, stopping at a cheap motel to only stretch my legs and rejuvenate. as long as i'm decked out like jessica hart, i'll be set. turn up the volume below and go on your own adventure.
i was thrilled to add this new dress to my wardrobe - it's cut like a dream and it happens to be my favorite color in the world. i couldn't see it paired with anything other than my leopard coat (last seen keeping me warm at NYFW here and here, and in post-purchase bliss here and here), and i literally threw on the closest accessories within arms reach for a day of thrifting and tacos. the results were so pleasantly appealing, even though fresh fallen snow in front of the prettiest of walls always helps.
i'm ready to get swept away by spring and all of its possibilites. embracing a lighter palette while incorporating winter's black pieces is key to my seasonal transition. ahhh, the thought of new beginnings (and thrifting pieces like the sheer skirt & gray sweater) has me swooning.
this is a good mentality to have - "in five years time" - and by that, let me explain. i'll be twenty seven this year, and when i look back on this blog, i want to see my outfits (and pictures in general) and feel sense of pride. i want to see i was doing what i love and wearing what i want; not dressing up for the sake of sharing it on the internet or following a new trend that doesn't fit my style. i'm not trying to impress anyone but myself and i feel like this outfit - classic denim, stripes, neutrals, + boots & a bag that i wear almost everyday - is the epitome of that. me, dressing and living for me. in five years time, will you look back on whatever you're doing and be proud of yourself? sure hope so. that obviously applies to more important non-fashion related stuff too. you guys are a constant source of inspiration - thanks for always supporting me! ;-)
this song makes me happy and has me remembering how happy i was the day i took these pictures.
vintage coach bag (similar here);vintage rings; michael kors watch; aldoboots.
feeling very rock 'n' roll in today's look. still can't believe i thrifted the tartan coat for $2; i love how well it goes with a pop of red and my beloved vintage sweatshirt from NYC that i slept in the night before. rolling out of bed and just throwing on an outfit that requires little thought and even less action is incredibly ideal. p.s. damn happy that sidewalks are public property which gives me every right to pose (?) in front of siiiick houses.
thrifted sweater; h&m t-shirt, jeans (identical here), belt (identical here) and necklace (identical here); forever 21 hat (similar here); vintage coach bag (similar here); michael kors watch; zara heels.
i could (and pretty much do) live in neutral basic separates punched up with the perfect mix of accessories. the hat is a little boho, the bag, a whole lotta classy, and the shoes definitely have that edge i crave. together, these favorites of mine always do the trick.
what are some pieces in your wardrobe you always turn to?
i'm still taking questions for my upcoming "ask me anything feature" - so go ahead, ask me any little thing your heart desires. you can do so anonymously if you'd like. either way, just go to formspring, or use the comment section of this post. i'm looking forward to hearing from you!
