give & take.

ecote cardi from urban outfitters.

got this cardigan from urban outfitters today, and i'm thinking it might be a good substitute for the opening ceremony sweater coat i posted in my christmas wishlist that i'm still lusting for (actually, i'm still looking for inexpensive versions of everything on that list).
it's not the same pretty light cream color and doesn't have that cool faux shearling exterior or gigantic pockets, but i'm thinking it might do for now, since on sale, the opening ceremony one is still a crazy $442.40.
the sweater also photographed weird; it's not as pink as it looks in the picture; it's really the color on the product page.

i don't know, i'm questioning it still...what do you guys think? good substitute? no? anyone find something better?
other big news:
  • i'm cleaning out my closet and donating some of my outdated/unused clothing to help earthquake victims in haiti. if you would like to do the same, talk to nate erickson. he works for singer wyclef jean (who is from haiti) and is reaching out to bloggers and the fashion industry as a whole to get us to give up the clothing we don't need to those who do. or you can text "YELE" to 501501 to donate $10 to wyclef's haitian charity yéle. any little bit helps out those less fortunate.
  • i'll be selling the flared leather skirt from this post and lots more stuff in my soon-to-be-open BLOG SHOP! i'll keep you guys updated, promise =)

jacqueline - everything i look at it, i think so too, and then i look at it some more, and it disappoints me. LOL! hopefully i'll make my mind up soon.

anon 5:46 - someone else has said that to me before! i really don't see it. well, maybe- kinda-sorta there might be a resemblance, like in the hair and dark features. but i'll take it as a compliment, so thank you!

Love the sweater! And so nice of you to donate your clothes! My heart goes out to everyone effected by the earthquakes in Haiti!

I love that sweater, and most things by ecote :) I say keep it until you find the right one! Unless you wanna shell out 400? Hey being fashionable is a tough job, but someone has got to do it! :)

I think that's a good alternative to the OC sweater coat. Maybe you could also try thrift shops?

I have to say that I'm pretty excited about your blog shop! Can't wait!

anon 8:32 - i think it is too, but i might send it back. i wish there were thrift shops around me! there's a few goodwills, but the closest nice thrift shop is like 1.5 hours away =(
