flashback.

thought it would be fun to show you guys some older outfit photos of mine, since i'm in the midst of finals and haven't had the chance to shoot any new ones. these were taken around the november 2008 - january 2009 range (i think one may actually be from this past april), and this was during the time when i had finished experimenting with different looks and found my style; exactly what i knew would work for me. and i haven't looked back.

btw, my hair is much lighter here (used to dye it, now it's back to its natural dark color), i still own and wear everything you see here (except the purse and some of the jewelry - if you want to know where anything is from, just ask in the comments), and don't judge the childhood pink carpet/brown walls that still decorate my room. painting in t-minus two weeks (after graduation), and then new carpet is going in immediately afterward.
thank. god.

hope you guys are having a good week!

All these outfits are great! I love the dress in the last pic.

Good luck with finals! I have mine next week :( What is your major btw?

It's so sad that the photos' quality is so poor, if you just had a good camera you might be one of the biggest fashionistas in blogworld. Girl, go out and take your photos at the backyard or street, not in your room or basement! ;)

You have an awesome style, you look great and have obviously found your own personal style! Thank you for all that inspiration I have found from your blog.

Xoxo, your Finnish reader :)

Acts Of Play

caylee said...

kurarin - yes, and i'll be off in that crazy other world until finals are finished on the 16th. lolz. thanks for the good luck wishes, and right back at you! =)

jacqueline - thank you! it's an oldie from H&M.

dirty hair halo - thank you so much!

nerdic. - thank you!

come over to the dark side...we have candy - aww, thank you so much! =)

annachiara - thank you as always lady =)

mariezee - thank you! i plan on it, and the pace will pick up after i graduate in two weeks! yesssss.

taylor sterling - thank you so much! don't change your style, but you can always add an edge to an outfit every now and then. that's what i do when i want to go girly =) p.s. those pants are from forever 21.

quiri - thank you!

morning glory - thank you! lol, i think that everyone needs a pair of faux leather pants.

karen - thanks! i thought it would be a good idea since i didn't have any new outfits to post =) i absolutely love that top too, even though it's almost a year old; oh wow, i actually wore it yesterday! haha. and btw, it's actually blue/white stripes!

antonio barros - thanks! i wear basically that same silhouette (pants/blazer/loose top/ =)

the style spotter - aw thanks! =)

blonde chicette - thank you thank you!

daphne - thanks! they are one of my favorite pairs of pants in my closet. and they're comfy enough to sleep in too. major plus!

small town girl - thank you! the dress is an oldie from H&M =) and good luck on your finals as well. my major is business management and marketing. what's yours?

tina - hmmm you must not have been reading my blog lately, or you've only followed me for the past three posts....because it you scroll down a few posts, you will see that i indeed just got an amazing new camera, and i can't wait to start shooting higher quality photos with it. these pictures here are a year old and were taken with my crappy old camera. and shooting in my backyard or on the street is easier said than done, because i usually take the pictures myself with the self-timer. hopefully in the near future i'll be able to convince my boyfriend to become my photog, because even with a nice camera, the self-timer always does shoot worse than normal pics. but thank you so much, it really means a lot that i am an inspiration and that you think my blog could be something big =)

midnightssun - wow, thanks!

violeta - hey! it's from H&M, as are the leather pants. but again, they are almost a year old. you can always find similar styles there, or at forever 21, zara, etc. i have not seen the zara version, just in the lookbook too. i hope that you find what you are looking for soon!

lau - thank you! the top is from H&M =)

anon 7:12 - i'm sorry you feel that way, but you can't please everyone. i'm only dressing for numero uno (myself), and the most important thing is that i am happy, which i am. if you feel as though i am not interesting, then please feel free to not visit my blog anymore!

leflassh. - aw thanks dajana! =)

dylana - thank you so much!

small town girl - awesome majors =) i seriously cannot wait either! ahhh 1.5 weeks and counting.

behind the seams - thanks trang! congrats on winning AMSB =)

felicia - thank you!

angie - thank you! no of course it doesn't bother me - i 5'7", weigh 120 lbs, and normally wear a size 4/27" in pants, but it always changes depending on the style of the pants and the brand - sometimes i have to go up to a size 6, like at H&M. the same for shirts - i usually wear a small but i buy a lot of my tops in a size large because i love them to be oversized. as for my shape, i have bigger hips and like to show off my legs so 99.9% of the time i dress to hide my hips (oversized top) and flaunt my legs (skinny pants/leggings/tights/short dresses/shorts). hope this helps! if you have any more questions, let me know =)

song of style - aww thanks aimee =)

dejana - thank you! so glad you are a follower! i like the kind of "triangle" look/silhouette with the wide or oversized top and a skinny bottom. i think it flatters my figure best =)

elle jay - thank you! both are H&M =)

anon 3:04 - oooo that's a really good question. after i realized my interest in fashion wasn't just a fling (lol), i spent countless hours pouring over magazines, designer lookbooks, runways, and especially other fashion blogs (mainly personal and street style blogs) and finally found what called to me the most - a simple, minimalistic look with a hard edge. i think my love for rock music may have influenced the latter part. the one thing i always knew though was that my style and wardrobe would be simple and based around neutral colors - i think that is because in a way these ideals flatter my personality well - i'm a quiet, simple girl, and i don't like loud, attention getting things or drawing unnecessary attention to myself, so things like crazy shoes or lots of layers and textures work best for me in basic colors like black. and i think neutrals just all-around look so much better anyway. the only other style that i experimented with was the vintage-y/boho look, and also maybe more of a classic look. none suited me the way that i know my now-defined personal style does. it took about a year for me to find it!

lee - thank you!

anon 12:42 - yes, i have seen these, and i would get them if it weren't for the toe. i just wish that it was not pointed upward. thank you so much though for finding them and taking the time to show me link!

the queen of hearts - i live and breathe for perfect basics =) thank you!

fashion & DIY - thank you!

wrecked stellar - thank you!
