thigh hi.

H&M oversized sweater and circle scarf; american apparel cotton thigh-high socks; forever 21 oval ring and studded watch; charlotte russe chain bracelet; target bracelet; vintage native american cuff; nine west wedges.

been wearing these thick thigh-high socks out to dinner, around the house, to bed...so comfortable and warm. oh, & i had shorts on underneath this sweater =) the weather here has finally realized that it's fall, so all of my new goodies are getting to come out and play.

There is jewelry cleaner you can get to clean the jewelry, but the jewelry will tarnish again eventually. You look cute though! Sorry about your jewelry.

I used to work at a cheap jewelry store called Diva here in Australia.

Basically water and the natural oils from your skin are going to tarnish your jewelry. Polishing the jewelry with a microfibre polishing cloth will help prevent it from happening. I'm not sure that there is a way to get rid of the tarnishing once it's happened, but polishing your jewelry with the cloth after you've worn it will prevent it from happening.

Hope that helps!

love it!!! I got some thigh highs, but now it is too cold where I live to wear them without pants...maybe I'll get lucky with a warmer day ;)

I second that request for any tips on preventing/removing tarnish on "inexpensive" (never say cheap! ;]) jewelry?

Love your socks. Wish I could wear mine out...but i don't want nasty men staring :/

try looking at thrift stores for jewelry that's a good price but old and decent quality - that's the best way to do it!

Hey!
I love that jumper, i got it because it is like a square shape, thought it was interesting. I can't take mine off it's so comfy so thanks for another idea of how to wear it! It's also suddenly become autumn here in the UK too. I feel your pain with H&M rings, mine have all gone green recently :(

emily - aww it's ok, thanks! i'm trying to figure it out, some readers below left a few good ideas!

fashionhippeiloves - thank you!

grace - thank you so much!

jacqueline - yeah, it's kinda inevitable =( but thank you!

the style strutter - thank you!

elegant unique - thank you! i'll go check out your blog when i'm done answering comments =)

shannon - thank you!

ashley - thank you! i often wear these wedges with all black/gray to give it a little something unexpected =)

white tea & wild horses - thank you for your advice! where can i find a microfibre polishing cloth? just any drug/superstore, or do i have to go to a specialty store, like a jeweler? or can i just get one off of eBay...haha, that would be great.

gon - yah it sucks, especially when the jewelry is your favorite, and you wear it almost everyday! =( oh well. and thank you!

lions, tigers, and fashion OH MY! - thank you! yeah, it's getting that way here now, but when i wore this, it was warm enough. though you could also layer them over tights! i plan on doing that soon.

anon 10:34 - oh yeah, you're right, let me correct myself: "inexpensive" jewelry. haha!!
i'll remember that for next time =) and i only wear mine out like this when i'm with my boyfriend!! that way, guys might stare but i've got him with me. i often wear my more revealing outfits when i'm with him, haha.

leflassh. - thank you thank you! and it sucks SO bad. i wish i could reverse the damage! =(

raquelll - that would be a great idea, if i didn't live in indiana! thrift stores are few and far between here, and if there is one, it's doesn't have the greatest stuff...

lainey - aww thank you!

dylana - thank you! i'm loving them at the moment too =)

geri - aww thanks geri =) =) =) but, p.s., my hair can be such a PAIN sometimes. haha

carissa - thank you!

fashionjazz - thank you jasna!

sofiasophie - thank you!

charlotte - that why i got it too; the square shape hangs just right when you have it on, and it's so comfy! my jewelry rarely turns green, it turns brassy =(

clara - thank you!

fashion monstre - thank you!

kristyb - oh awesome, glad i could help! these are so thick and comfy =)

kristiane - thank you! oh i almost bought these in black, because i love mine so much =) i think what you said would be perfect together!

behind the seams - thanks trang! =)

veronicahhh - thank you!

melissa - will do!

chloe - thank you!

barbro andersen - aww thank you! =)

anon 11:54/3:51 - both of my sexuali tees are size +1 =)

malu - thank you so much!

Hey! I use toothpaste to shine up my jewelry thats tarnished and it always seems to work for me! I think it's worth a try....just get and old toothbrush and some sort of white toothpaste and brush it all over and rinse it off.....hope that works!

I realized a while ago i needed to stop with the f21 jewelry already too! my strategy for finding quality vintage silver jewelry: look specifically for 1. severely tarnished pieces, 2. a 925 stamp somewhere on the piece, which means its means you have sterling silver. Really cheap thrift stores are the best. i have a growing collection of thrifted mexican/southwestern sterling silver pieces i love & wear constantly.

when you get home, clean them with whitening toothpaste (cheap, simple & doesnt hurt the silver.

Totally agree w/ last comment. In cal, we have access to some nice stuff from Mexico that is real and handmade an can be purchased at flea market and craft sales. Otherwise, I've gotten some GREAT pieces at garage sales and thrift stores in really ritzy neighborhoods where people just want to unload the stuff more than drive a hard bargain. Once I walked away with an Italian leather wallet and a handful of chunky vintage jewelery for $2. All in all, I'd say its worth the little extra investment/hunt to find pieces you love and you'll be able to treasure forever... like good jewelery should be. <3
